Coriander, also known as Chinese parsley and commonly called cilantro when fresh, is an annual herb in the Apiaceae family. It is widely used in cuisines worldwide, and its seeds, when crushed, offer a unique lemony-citrus flavor. Described as warm, nutty, spicy, and orange-flavored, coriander seeds are essential in many spice blends, such as garam masala, and are often used in Indian curries, often in combination with cumin.
